Our Mission and Vision
Mission Statement: Mountain View Community Church seeks to be a community of people experiencing God, growing in His truth, and reflecting His love "...'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all you strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:30-31 NIV)
Vision Statement Believing that this mission statement communicates God's purpose for MVCC, we anticipate and commit to this future: We will be a church that exhibits a passion to experience God We envision a prayerful people united in passionate worship that exalts Jesus Christ and pursues Him wholeheartedly. We anticipate a contagious atmosphere in which people will be drawn to an initial experience with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and in which believers will aspire to deepen their lifelong relationship with God through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
We will be a church that motivates Christians to grow in God's Truth We envision opportunities for people of all ages and levels of spiritual development to grow in the knowledge and application of God's Word. We will seek creative ways to challenge them with Biblical principles that honor God in daily life. We will seek godliness in our leadership, with a priority of developing leaders from within the church. As a congregation we will endeavor to know our varied spiritual gifts and how to use them in a Christ-like manner for the health of the church body. Our goal will always be to seek the God of truth, not simply truth about God.
We will be a church that actively reflects God's Love We envision this reflection of His love to be consistent within the church family. Gathered corporately and in small groups, we will pray together, share our joys and burdens, and encourage one another in faithfulness to Jesus Christ. We see a church that reflects His love in our community. We visualize ourselves allowing god to guide us in authentic ways of introducing people in our lives to Jesus, through character, word, and action. Individually and corporately, we will reflect God's love by serving our community's needs. Our vision to reflect the love of God will also reach to other cultures and peoples around the world. We will learn, we will send, we will go, and we will pray so that more will know and experience this love.
We envision this future for God's glory and not our own, for the joy of experiencing Him and not simply His blessings, to the end that "the gospel of this kingdom will be proclaimed in whole world" before Jesus Christ returns.
